Discipleship

DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY

GROWING IN MESSIAH

The mission of HOI is to develop Messianic disciples who serve as witnesses to Israel and on behalf of Israel. One of our congregational values is discipleship (Matthew 28:19–20). In light of that, our goal is to make as many Messianic disciples as possible.

WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?

  • By faith in Yeshua, you are made God’s child; through discipleship, you mature as His child.

  • By faith, you are saved from eternal judgment; through discipleship, you grow with respect to that salvation.

WHAT IS “DISCIPLESHIP”?

  • Discipleship is the divine process that shapes the wise into His plan. The concept of discipleship comes from the Hebrew hanakh, which means “to make narrow, dedicate, train.

  • Discipleship means to develop disciples to have a greater dependence on Yeshua by becoming conformed into His image in faith, love, character, and conduct (Romans 8:29; Ephesians 4:13, 15).

  • Discipleship is submission to Adonai’s authority on all matters concerning our time, talent, treasure, thought life, and relationships. Proper discipleship is subsequent to every person’s salvation, and it is the assumed result of every person’s salvation.

“We proclaim Him, warning and teaching everyone in all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Messiah. To this end I labor, striving with all His strength which is powerfully at work in me.”
— Colossians 1:28,29
